At first, I thought this was going to be the original Mack the Knife (The one from the old German poem by Bertolt Brecht), and I was a bit excited to see your interpretation of him, being that he’s an allegory for Hitler.
However, seeing that this was not him, and a character that was simply referencing him, I was somewhat disappointed….
Well, first of all, great hack. Yet another I can cross off my list!
Second, Shippiddge, your wrong on MacHeath being an allegory for Hitler. The Threepenny Opera (Die Dreigroschenope) opened in Berlin in 1928- before Adolph Hitler was Chancellor, or anything really. MacHeath really isn’t an allegory for anything, aside from the results of Capitilism, as Bertolt was a Marxist.
@SuperLuigiBros: Y’know, I think that was S. that showed it off at Kitty Corps. He posts there under a different screen name. He’s the one with the Mother signature.
@Cahse: Well I’ll be damned! The entire session in class the other day was about the song and they taught us that it was all about Hitler. I wonder what brought the instructor to that conclusion…
@Shippidge: Well, he did have a lot of poems that dealt wtih Hitler- most notabley “From a German War Primer”. Maybe that’s where he got the idea. But yeah, Threepenny opened before He was anything other than the leader of an obscure German worker’s party.
I think the problem is that Mack’s sprite was of such quality that people couldn’t really realise what he was, and all though this texture matches the top of the official art perfectly, you can’t really recognise it without the… uh… giant knife.
Mack is the first boss you fight that holds a Star Road piece, in Super Mario RPG. Nobody ever seems to notice that make is on top of the sword, not the actual sword. other than that, all i have to say is nice texture, but i really don’t like the descriptions you put.
If I had to choose one, I’d say that Mack is the sword itself, as per the eyes. But as his minions are shy guys on pogo sticks, I wouldn’t say you’d be wrong in thinking he was the man on his head either.
But the fact is, Meta-Knight looks so much like the man on the sword, that it’s perfect! ^^
First?
Looks cool
Awesome…
(second)

fifth lol you guys are doing everything now. π
its not knife-guy…
i dont remember mack the knife…
Third!
Fail…
SS, could you possibly add a picture of the original character? It would make it easier to see the comparison than going to google images.

… I mean, I see the resemblance to Metaknight on the top, but… >_>
Still, nice looking hack, albeit a bit strange considering the original character it’s based on >_>
No St-Patrick’s update? D;
Hehe, great hack. He translated over pretty well, if you ask me.
Nice transition! I personally didn’t think it’d fit! I’ve joyfully been proven wrong again.
That is quite a strange idea. I have no idea of were he comes from.
Screw you and your non irish updates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(still looks kinda cool)
Epic win.
Some how, I knew It was going to be Meta Knight.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!
Nice!

Hey are those smaller wings?
Wow will you guys stop at nothing
*Crosses fingers for Kirby Mr.Saturn*
Cool.
Isn’t this texture already made by someone in Kitty Corps? I’ve already seen it in the forums, but oh well… who cares anyways.. pretty cool texture
It is cool, i like it

29th!!!!
also, cool texture
… But he’s so… generic.
It’s ok but I just don’t see the spark in it.
I agree with rotomRASENGAN. TABUU CULEX! π
@Cahse: Well I’ll be damned! The entire session in class the other day was about the song and they taught us that it was all about Hitler. I wonder what brought the instructor to that conclusion…
Not my favorite.

Oh yeah! This is my idea right? π Awesome. π
I was NOT expecting this at all….TABUU CULEX!
Who is this?
Knife Guy or Mack? I know Mack was just a giant knife, but this doesn’t look anything like either of them.
I think the problem is that Mack’s sprite was of such quality that people couldn’t really realise what he was, and all though this texture matches the top of the official art perfectly, you can’t really recognise it without the… uh… giant knife.
Mack wasn’t a giant knife- he was the guy riding it, wasn’t he?
This would look a lot better if the smile was more pronounced, and if the eye was split into two parts (Which may not be possible). Cool idea, though.
Worst. Captions. Ever.
