  • Fuck wavedashing.

Why does nobody play the game the way it should be played?

  • You mean you’re not supposed to be able to use directional air dodging, which is programmed into the game, to air dodge diagonally downward, which is also programmed into the game? >_> And you’re not supposed to be able to use basic laws of physics (conservation of momentum) to your advantage?

Anyway, this pic was taken at the end of Sonic’s down tilt. (I should know, I took these.)

  • I meant just wavedashing. Not the regular moves that lead into it. As long as you’re not wavedashing or using some other form of glitching, any move is fine.

No need to be so anal, Vyse. 🙁

  • Who are you to say how it should be played?

  • Wavedashing isn’t a glitch.

  • I like pie.

  • It’s not, actually. Basic physics. It would be really weird if all your momentum suddenly went away when you hit the ground.

At worst, it’s an exploit. It’s not unintended; they programmed their physics engine to work that way. They knew about it during development and left it. Not a glitch.

Before you say, “If it’s not a glitch, why was it removed from Brawl?” — it wasn’t. It still exists. It has to in order for the physics engine to function. The only thing that changed was the airdodging system, and that change had everything to do with making the game more noob-friendly and nothing to do with wavedashing. If you use Brawl+, all it does is enable directional airdodging, and wavedashing works fine. (In other words, there’s no “Enable Wavedashing” code — the mechanics are already in the game.)
